Aardvark sown by Topdown and seeder 14/8/20 with rain straight afterwards.
whats the spot/hole bottom centre below and to the left of the blue pellet, mindst I had to get my glasses onSown by subsoiler into spring wheat stubble 13/9 emerging nicely. I hope for a kind autumn to help it survive. No flea beetle around now - drowned in an inch of rain today

looks great! how are you finding it compared to last year? I've not got any in this time but farmers nearby have and looks pretty good.View attachment 910230View attachment 910231Starting to relax a bit,but the majority of my osr is only at cotyledon and is sat that this annoying stage not doing alot.
CSFB seem to be leaving it alone at the moment.
What is this 'dry' you speak of?Well things are going slightly backwards here, however there is still a lot sat in the dry and some that has come after the last 10mm of rain is not even marked, so I live in hope, it's had some fert so has two chances.

one of our customers that's on a 4 year rotation has a fair bit of volunteer rape this time, field was last in rape 4 years ago and was a conventional variety shows how long it will wait in the soil, we dont seem to find too much bother using hybrids however the home farm is on a 6 year rotation. What is this 'dry' you speak of?
In other news anyone getting a lot of volunteer rape in their rape crops?
This is on a 4 year rotation. Was in hybrid last and now but the volunteers won't be hybrid?one of our customers that's on a 4 year rotation has a fair bit of volunteer rape this time, field was last in rape 4 years ago and was a conventional variety shows how long it will wait in the soil, we dont seem to find too much bother using hybrids however the home farm is on a 6 year rotation.
why wont it be seeds from the hybrid ,they germinate just not true to the originalThis is on a 4 year rotation. Was in hybrid last and now but the volunteers won't be hybrid?
Hopefully the hybrid vigour of the proper stuff will out compete the interlopers.
I said they won't be hybrid, not that they won't be from hybrid seed.why wont it be seeds from the hybrid ,they germinate just not true to the original
Definitely a lot less damage this year, all the osr below the cliff is a lot smaller but was drilled 3wks after this due to the spring barley not being ready, its not out of the woods yet,it needs a kind autumn.looks great! how are you finding it compared to last year? ah ,thought you meant they had appeared from years ago, cheersI said they won't be hybrid, not that they won't be from hybrid seed.
