Come on then experts how heavy? I’m on withdrawal until the 27th but going too weigh for first time this week just too get an idea of what iv got... this lads my biggest lamb me thinks he’s getting a bit heavy 😳😅

54kg?

this one I grabbed in the field this morning was 52kg, born late Feb single. Probably a U5 though 🤦🏻‍♂️

Your not one of these types that moan about those of us who sell hoggs into June
not really i get hill boys lamb later and the beltex lambzzzzzzzzzzzz take a bit longer lol , but there has been to many hoggs born normal time around here not sold till late , ends up clashing with the dorset boys over easter , no real excuse for suff mule lambs still about in may except the rough end

I suppose that’s ok when you farm little boys land
Mid April to start lambing here unless you are very lightly stocked and want to have them either inside or relying on cake or both there isn’t much point in lambing earlier. Still it’s too late to hit good spring lamb prices before they cool off. A year like this approaching mid May and still no grass yet.
Amazing getting lessons how to farm here from someone who likely couldn’t.

chill man, im only winding you up , im in same boat we are 750' no grass often till end april , my comments are more aimed at the lowland boys around me many on dairy units .

Ha we’ve had stick about this for years off folks that lamb early but likewise I could be moaning at them for selling from June when we can only get weight by end of September as a rule
