Greedy Maltsters

Having had random loads of malting barley rejected in the past few years off the same heap from the same field cut on the same day for various petty reasons by Maltsters, I’m now in the position where feed barley is at a higher price than what I’ve sold on a malting contract.

Time to turn the drier up and bugger the germination me thinks😂😂😂😂

I've said it before but f**k the maltsters.

This year I know malting barley is making good money but I still got my helper to tip my spring barley on winter feed heap.

Atleast now when they ring up or come creeping around for a sample I can tell them to go forth and multiply and there'll be no chance of me getting drawn towards the prospect of a premium which might or might not happen.

Im probably loosing out but I'm a stubborn b######d and I'll make sure they don't con me ever again.

Cor, now there's a blast from the past. Dad used to take everything we grew into there with tractor and trailer
When I went to Garboldisham 35 years ago a friend from college days said to me, you are very lucky to have two local grain Merchants, one he said is very honest and straight forward , that was Richard .
I wont identify the other man or what my friend said of him. 😉
