agroforestry right there ! its not just about lines of trees in fields, far from it

healthy looking animals, in a healthy looking environment, they will provide healthy food

this is what we need more off
It vexes me that the system is geared very much against what I’m doing right their ! It’s all about the big boys and the super market sweep.

This wood was dead in the bottom until pigs tidied it up, they love eating grass among the trees 🌲 .

I presume the idea is they clean it up then the right stuff grows. My limited attempts to 'rewild' scrubby corners under an old environmental scheme has thorns, bracken and brambles taking over

After a spell on life support I swore I would take more enjoyment from life and live each day, hour, minute as if it were my last.
Of course this is impossible, but I do take time to just stand and stare, The dew on a cobweb, unfurling leaves, the texture of a new beech leaf, the smell of rain on dry ground, two robins shouting their lungs out challenging for their space, even the sound I make trying to walk in the slightly underwater fields. Surrounded by wonderful sights, sounds, smells and tastes, I am determined not to hurry though life any more.
Watching a flock of duck fly in to my lake tonight against the fading light and the new moon - just bliss!

That rather reminds me of the motto of my favourite author, Denys Watkins-Pitchford, 'BB':

The wonder of the world
The beauty and the power,
The shapes of things,
Their colours, lights and shades,
These I saw.
Look ye also while life lasts.

And the last lines of Wordsworth's 'Intimations of Immortality':

...Thanks to the human heart by which we live,
Thanks to its tenderness, its joys, and fears,
To me the meanest flower that blows can give
Thoughts that do often lie too deep for tears.

I hope they enjoy starvation. The natural way would be hunting gathering , we passed that stage long ago .
Well, I'm more green than most, and have no problems with re-wilding where possible; but... a lot of 'environmentalists' have a fixed ideal of what is the 'right' sort of natural environment. I've had some of them ranting at me about my being p!ssed off with badgers ruining pasture etc., and they always give the nauseatingly predictable response 'But the badgers were there first...' :yuck:

Yet they don't want to hear that the badgers were everywhere first; where the schools are now, where the roads are now, where the hospitals are now, where the offices and factories are now and where they live now - and... my fields have been there for a damned sight longer than most, probably all of those! They never want to hear that, and they never respond to it either.
