That'll be with the insect and bird repellent I would have thought? Think mine was £85/90 with both repellents, first choice less favourable site I think I went for

What's your thoughts? Big difference in cultivation costs guessing?
More missing or stunted plants in strip till due to uneven berm but much cheaper to establish. Only works in stubble though and not a cheap machine to buy

Hmmm. £27k for 4 row and £58k for 8 row says otherwise (& those are 2022 prices)
Buy two 4 rows & you can tell yourself it’s a bargain & you’re saving money

Cheaper to buy a muzuri wouldn’t it? Low rate roundup to “chemical top” drill in grass will wake up after the maize is away and you’ve got your under sowing with no hassles

Not a clue. I’m a maize virgin. Rough guess it would be 50k drill but you’d drill anything you like with it.
Was more the concern with using a half dose of glyphos and allowing the grass to come back. Resistant ready grass coming at a farm near you

Best avoided. And I doubt a Muzuri is 50K. Very versatile drill though.

neighbour has strip tilled into rye stubble, only the field centres, chickened out of the headlands, looks alright, so far, and he got a grant from CSF to do it. Will be watching carefully ! We didn't plough most of ours, just tines, and a very shallow quick pass, with the p/h, to level it, for the drill. All nicely up in line, can't say more than that.
