@silverfox its such a shame to think your packing up, I don't blame you and I'm sure your doing what's right but there's so many farmers out there who should have packed up years ago because they can't farm for toffee and then there's your farmHarvest starts with Rye doing 18/19 tons acre . Due to start Tayside this coming week.Viners started 15 June. Beeswax, Fen Peas, HMCpeas. Alysham Growers started day or so earlier.
Sorry so far we’ve had a good growing season, probably have a wet harvest now unfortunatelyCan those in Shropshire only post pictures of the bad parts of their crops for the sanity of the drought hit farmers!
Quit while you’re ahead maybe@silverfox its such a shame to think your packing up, I don't blame you and I'm sure your doing what's right but there's so many farmers out there who should have packed up years ago because they can't farm for toffee and then there's your farm
Maybe he has borrowed @teslacoils crystal ball and has also selected an autumn from hell to step off the merry-go-round.@silverfox its such a shame to think your packing up, I don't blame you and I'm sure your doing what's right but there's so many farmers out there who should have packed up years ago because they can't farm for toffee and then there's your farm
I merely traded for a smaller, but seemingly more intense merry-go-round.Maybe he has borrowed @teslacoils crystal ball and has also selected an autumn from hell to step off the merry-go-round.
How far are you in Angus, geographically, from Fife?On a wider note cropping looking excellent here in Angus. Winter barely on some units will be touching 5t/ acre .
Between 2 and 20 miles!!!!How far are you in Angus, geographically, from Fife?
I always find that winter barley is the crop with the widest swings in yield (here), harvest 21 was the best yield ever with 9t/ha of 2 row and I don't have any in this year, seems to do well if we get some rain in May whereas the rest of the cereal crops need it in June/July.Due to start Tayside this coming week.
Last were only sown 3 weeks ago.
On a wider note cropping looking excellent here in Angus. Winter barely on some units will be touching 5t/ acre and overall developmentally 10 days ahead of last year. Possible mid August spring barley start.
20 miles north of Tay on edge of hills. How far are you in Angus, geographically, from Fife?
