Well seeing as it’s new year and last years thread on this topic ram to 80 pages, thought it time to start a new one for this year’s harvest.

I don’t have a lot of winter corn in but what I have is looking ok. The warm December certainly did no harm. A selection as off today.

Bit of an experiment. Skyfall drilled direct into a 3 year old grass / clover ley. Looked “interesting “ when the drill was in field but pleased with it now. Bit of clover hanging in but hopefully also feeding it

momento winter barley. Looking a little thin in places but it’s all there. Will need a feed sooner rather than later.

Second wheat. And a field of late wheat. I've five fields of gleam wheat:

After fallow
Second wheat in long term cereals.
Second wheat after grass
First wheat after grass just disced up.
Late first wheat after ploughed up grass.

I'd say I'm pretty pleased with it, apart from the bottom headland using up a bag of year old seed. Think there will be a couple of acres there that yields nowt.

Wheat looks well, barley looks well beans look well, Rye looks a bit thin where combine threw a few winter barley volunteers out the back, although sprayed off in good time I think the volunteers robbed the ground of some nutrients

wheat after beet
deep shakeratored and combo drilled 4 th november
and then had a demo drill strip till 2 weeks later when lifted other half of field
now to be fair strip till needs some wings to lift the soil more , on the light part of field , it’s come well
but the heavy hill top and some white limestone snot , the slots the leg has pulled it’s just a wet sloppy mess and not come very well , but 90% of field ok
need to find the right coulters to go behind shakerator , it has leg spacing of 300 mm as we use it to put beans in
combo stuff still looks best but we shall see how rest comes
rest of farm looks good
and will wait to see how field after beet drilled with lemken coulters in end december comes
