Massey clock not keeping time

Likely a battery inside the module to keep it alive.

I did hear back from AGCO after submitting my feedback form.

The service team confirmed there is no back up battery in the clock and the power is taken from the printed circuit board. I was told the only option was for the module to be replaced or possibly repaired. They suggested DK Electronics but I didn't think it likely they be able to repair it for any less than the cost of a new unit though. Far cheaper to buy a £5 cheap basic clock to put in it.

I know this is a fairly oldish thread but in both our 6460 and 6480 the clocks didn’t keep time so took side trim off and popped the back off the clock unit and there is a cr2032 button battery in there bought new one’s and both now keep time😁👍

Interesting!!! That’s the opposite of what I was told by AGCO!

T2 or T3?

Thank you very much indeed. Just taken a look at mine this afternoon and it was exactly as you said and your photos showed. I have swapped the battery out so will see how it performs over the next week or so as to whether it can now keep the correct time.

Just goes to show how resourceful and skilled farmers (and TFF members!) are. AGCO stated specifically that there was no backup battery in the clock!

Not sure what is going on here now. Having swapped the battery over it seems to keep resetting to 12:00AM when the tractor is turned on.

I’m not 100% sure that it even did this before swapping the battery out. Making me doubt myself now…

“How many farmers does it take to change a clock battery?” 😂

Yes, I did check that. Branding (+) facing outwards like the photo above. I've also just put the new battery on a meter and it shows as being full. Checked the old one and it doesn't show up anything at all.

Multimeter shows 2.9v for the new battery. Just a bit less than 1v for the old battery.

Definitely clipped in correctly? Not loose?
do you have another battery to try ?
I know you’ve tested the one but just in case it’s giving a false reading (dodgy battery?)
