whats the plus side of digital passports. It works fine as it does why the need for technology not every one has access to pc phone etc if loads change etc or rejected. Some of our outlaying stores you cant get a phone signal whatever network you try

in principle i have no issue with digital passports - i guess it’s inevitable at some point

the BIG issue is who holds the data and NO WAY that should be a private company like Red Tractor who will sell the data

AHDB need to take ownership and lock this data away in a VERY strong box

this data is immensely valuable re producing stick figures …….. helping merchants know exactly how to price against farmers best interest !

You mean you don't have a printer and 5G phone on your loader, waiting to meet RT's latest demands.....

Shame on you @graham mc ..... you are a Bad Boy and your name HAS been noted.

Next will be a section in the RT dropbox form, for your TFF nickname....

There are Long Term Stores, and there are Harvest Stores, what good for farmers could possibly come from having to disclose which store grain came from, and when.
If one were of an uncooperative mindset, one might name their stores "Field pile store, central Saskatchewan" and "Lightly bomb damaged store, Odessa Ukraine"

They are claiming that in return we will be told the moisture, protein, etc on every load. I have got a feeling that won't happen though.
Imagine if farmers had the audacity to turn round and say that they will take a claim on high moisture grain but want extra for low moisture grain.

Don't we already give them this info anyway on a passport? We already write down what store it comes from? The issue as far as I can see it is that instead of just having a load of blanks printed off in the loader, we now have to go through an unnecessary faff to print off pre populated sheets. For those of us with multiple contract farm customers it is much easier to just have a load of blanks.

I suspect in a year or two it will become mandatory to have signs on the front of your grain stores to identify them so that the lorry driver can confirm you are loading it out of the correct store. Our assessor told me a few years ago they were looking to bring in a system where you had a QR code on the store and then the driver would scan that. It's all just solving a problem that doesnt actually exist.
Most wagon drivers don't want to leave their cab to use a brush so I reckon they'd struggle getting out to use a QR code scanner!

The drivers I've had recently don't get out of the cab, they have easy sheets and a camera and just signal where they want it loaded.
One of my sheds is split into 3 big bays, they haven't got a clue which one I'm loading out of and neither has anyone else.

Also what I have in store and where on inspection has no bearing on where it might be when loaded out. Odd loads of malting barley might get moved onto the feed heap to make room for the combine, machinery fertiliser ect or a couple of loads of wheat taking up space in a big shed might get moved to a smaller one so the shed can be cleaned ect.

If all this goes ahead I'll make bloody sure that yes, my records are correct but they're recorded in such a way no one other than me will have a clue what is where.

The whole red tractor scheme needs to go to the scrap yard.
After seeing how @Kit Papworth legged it out of the gate and into his car at a sugar beet event when challenged about price negotiations there's no wonder it's all such a sh!t show. With these people on various boards supposedly representing us it's no wonder we're in such a bloody muddle!!!!!

Looks as though the thieves are cutting their own throats with this nutty idea imposing yet more ridiculous unnecessary hassle on us.
I can see there'll be no members paying these greedy directors next month. No need for BFU as the RT thieves and those that are in cahoots with them have well and truly done self destruct upon themselves for us.
Still best the BFU finish the jobsworths off once and for all. Farmers are now better informed than ever of the aims of the BFU to give us free market access and to do away with those that corruptly feed off us.

We all know DATA conveniently goes mysteriously missing.
