Has anyone found any beefier springs to put on to stop swaying ? Ours is slightly different as it's on slate self propelled... not braced it yet as the pumps mounted on back so be tight to brace it , it's had new shocks but thinking of some stronger springs

If you mean swaying left to right, it may go against you first thought, but the springs could be to tight or the back frame is tight. The boom should stay level while the tractor rocks from side to side in work. If its tight, or you put stronger springs on it, the boom will rock with the tractor.
The outer back frame needs to move freely in relation to the inner one. Lubricate the slide plates at the bottom and as a starting point, adjust the springs so that the coils have no more than 1mm of gap between them.
With the boom open and set at chest height, stand at the end and push the boom down to the ground and let it go. When set correctly, the boom should come back up past chest height and then settle back down to chest height again.

The it's to tight. Lubricate the back frame slide plates and adjust the springs as above and perform the test described above and let me know what it does.
