This is the modern version.
I would have loved one. I did contact Stahly, who build them in America, but they didn’t sound keen and didn’t get back to me after saying they would. I didn’t push it too far.
They have a similar Allison auto gearbox as I have in the Zetros which was the big attraction. That and, of course, the fact they look absolutely bloody fantastic!!
However, whilst the rear wheels are big and impressive, the truck is over 3 metres wide, so not legal to tow a trailer this side of the pond. Only two wheel drive as well, but I didn’t really see that as a problem because the Big A is only two wheel drive as well.
I like to think I’ve ended up with the euro version of this US classic.
Business opportunity for you Pete, You could retail them with your smart graphic logos on.

We had an old Big A with a V6 Detroit engine. Worst thing I ever had to spend any time in. Thankfully, I think we only had it 1-2 years.

Cracking piece of kit.
There is a 4x4 Tatra in the UK. Angus Lime Stores run it spreading and they love it.

Steering looked good on the 8 wheeler in the video,left the ground very tidy. I expect the price is the reason they're so rare

Tatra comes from the same school of design as the Haflinger and Pinzgauer, which were designed by Ledwinka.

Might be imagining it but I think the Czechs used to manufacture a lot of the off-road trucks used by the Russian military for a long time- before the demise of the USSR, of course.
