Electricity tariffs/Prices

Just installed a new 3 phase supply for approx 100000kw a year
24p
16p night time
23 pound a day standing charge!

Ring BG. I did this deal on thursday.

12 months Fully Fixed Day 21.5170 Night 14.6290 SC 589.7200 p/day
No volume tolerance as well.

2 year and 3 year deals were only slightly up on those figures as well.

The deal I signed with them for 3 years in March 21 was SC 48.87 P/DAY, Day 15.31, Night 10.81 so whilst its an increase its no where near some of the quoted figures I have seen on here. Its the SC that are taking the p**s.

1 and 2 yrs were virtually identical but at that price we are circ 35% less than the previous 12 months so 3 yrs it is

Yes, they posted one single email which I found months later in my junk folder from a company ‘Bionic’ that I had never heard of or had dealings with before. There was no follow-up whatsoever. When opened this gave me the option of cancelling within so many days of them sending the email. No checks were made to ensure that I had read the email. This was six months before the end of the existing contract.
I work in the industry and I've spoken to two customers in the last week that thus has happened too. Terrible practice and if you would like to see what can be done I will be happy to take a look

Just had similar run in with Bionic roo auto renewing for me with 6 months to go. Thankfully saw the email in my junk folder and gave them some grief over it and got them to cancel the auto renew. It was going to be fixed at similar prices but I'm hoping in 6 months time it should have come down a bit (price cap down in Apr I think)

Hi all,

I've been offline since before Christmas but I'm now back ready to go.

I've heard a lot about the Bionic renewal process which is causing issues throughout every sector of UK business.

Also, I've heard a lot about standing charge issues.

I'm happy to provide guidance and assistance on these.

If you would like help please send me a direct message and I'll handle each case by case.

Thanks

Gary

Yes please. Response so far has been 'we are not quoting for HVHH meters at the moment'. Go to PM to progress.
Pardon my ignorance but what is a HVHH meter and why are they incurring such high standing charges compared to other meters ? I have 3 meters ,one is a import/export for a 50 pv set up on a shed roof and I find energy companies more stressful to deal with than RT !

HVHH - high voltage half hourly meter

Companies have incorporated TCR bandings to meters which is causing major issues for wind turbines owners as the draw for a turbine is low and the KVA is set extremely high.

Is this Bionic the same electricity broker that the TFA are pushing on their members?

From TFA publication:

"Energy prices have never been more unpredictable, so it’s important to lock in your rates to avoid potential future price rises. That is why the TFA has partnered with Bionic, the business energy experts, to save you time and hassle when sorting your next energy contract."
If anyone would prefer working with me for your power I can promise you will not be automatically rolled into any contracts
