Welsh Sustainable Farming Scheme AND Protests

Trouble is, most of us do not have any media training and spout off when a microphone is thrust at you.

Instructive when you think about how often you alter or edit a post before pressing reply

I agree. I think it just goes to show how difficult it is not to say the wrong thing and loose support. I know it’s easy to say in hindsight but she should have asked the anti farming woman how she would have liked it if the government decided to devalue her house by 20%, and give her no compensation.

There were more tractors back the other way and think a fair few more turned up after we had walked over

Name and shame

The Conservative AMs were Altaf Hussain and Sam Rowlands, the one from Plaid was Sian Gwenllian. The second from Plaid was Elin Jones, but I'm pretty sure she's not allowed to vote as Speaker?

List came through on a Facebook group. To be fair, there were three Labour AMs who didn't vote either, and of course Dripford was hiding in Brussels.

Jane Dodds (Lib Dem) did the right thing for once, voting with the Conservatives.

I would have said to the women who thought potatoes were the answer
that the irish learnt otherwise nearly 200 years ago.
She should have been quizzed about where her proteins were coming from
for a balanced diet.

If its equal votes ie 26 to 26, then the speaker HAS to vote with the party in office . So he had to go with Labour votes

.....I think 🤔
No, apparently the Llywydd goes with the status quo, i.e against the motion, be it a government or opposition proposal. That’s what someone said on Facebook who had been talking to Elin Jones.

Apparently our dear Ag minister was on Jeremy Vine today (not that I heard it obviously), saying that farmers had been involved in the development of the SFS for 7 years and, as it had been moulded by our responses, she couldn't understand why there was so much angst. :censored:
If the scheme was devised in the Welsh branch of Defra, it would have been devised with appropriate stakeholders. These would certainly include NFU Cymru, NFFN wales, probably aber Uni, HCC and others.
Therefore the Ag minister will be surprised by the oppostition as she will have been briefed that farmers were in agreement

Stakeholders does not mean farmers
