So, now that RT have had to do a major U-turn and considering that “Dim Jim” threw the rest of the AFS board under the bus is his position now completely untenable?
How long do you reckon before he is “collateral damage”?

in theory, as a farm business, you could draw up a contract that all carbon, BNG and environmental credits created on the land under your management had been contractually 'accounted for' . That could be into a completely separate family trust/business. Then as a farmer, you would have no obligation to anyone else.
Would be an interesting concept....especially for tenants!
My tenanted situation (specifically), and my very public poo pooing of the credit/net zero greenwash means I'm keeping well back from it all just the noo.

I did ask the audit company that are electronically being sent round, gently pushing, if they use gwp100...they do.

I think Jim Mosley and Christine tacon’s positions are both untenable. The damage they have both caused to red tractor as a business (whether you like it or not) is surely grounds for dissmassal.

The only fly in the ointment with these headlines, is that farmers who oppose the GFC are seen as environmental vandals.
That has already been hinted at by young Joe S.

Nothing could be further from the truth, but the real reason for farmer opposition to RT's GFC needs to be put across very, very carefully. And accurately.
Young stanley hasnt covered himself in glory with his recent opinions, forgive me if i couldnt give a tom tit what he thinks.

I had the misfortune to get into a one to one conversation with the Tacon woman about a year ago. She proceded to tell me how amazing she was, having climed the greasy pole, getting all these high powerd jobs dispite the disadvantage of not being a man. Then she started on about some ignorant little farmer who had been complaining about having to get his moisture meter tested every year, of course he must have been completely stupid as any competent person would know it is exstreemly important to have the thing in tip top condition. I had had enough of her by then and couldn't be bothered to tell her that I never get my meter tested, I just give one of her silly assesors any old date that comes into my head. Never had a load docked for high moisture either.

I've had to drop my G & T, and scoot back into the office to scribble this.
Hellfire and damnation.
FG leader article - from Chief reporter Rachael Brown.

Headline?
"is there any way back for environmental module?"

If the blasted farming press can't get this right - I give up.

There is nothing'environmental' about this heist. It was a plan dreamed up by processors / retailers via Red Tractor, to steal farmers' natural capital as a greening method to wash away their Scope 3 emissions.

But this is the danger. The environmental vandalism label on which we were hung, when we started to question this, and filled in CT's bloody questionaire. And that from the farming press. Aaaarrrghhhh.

RT have not yet done a major U turn @An Gof on the GFC issue have they??

All that has happened is the AHDB and the NFU have said they have advised the RT board not to go ahead with the GFC but as things stand the GFC will still start on the 1st April 2024!

Unless the RT board overturn what was agreed back at the Sept board meeting ( which they have not yet done ) then GFC is still going ahead as planned.

And given the NFU and AHDB signed off the GFC at the Sept board meeting then the BRC might demand that the GFC is introduced as agreed by the RT board back in Sept 2023.
