The small animal side of the vets used to attach our sir name to the dogs.
I pointed out that it was my dog, not my child.
They don't do it now, I don't know if they stopped it for everyone or there is a note comes up on the computer not to do it to the grumpy farmer 🤣
our vets do that at least they know the dog's name that's better than the doctors who don't know mine

Surname not Sir name

Unless you are a Knight

Bad grammar and bad spelling annoys me.

Radio Scotland do a weekly “ask the vet“ segment on the morning phone in and the vet always asked the pets name. One day a caller gushed how wonderfully caring it was he asked the dogs name to which he replied that he’d been told to by the producer 🙄.

I wondered whether Bouncer would be particularly happy that potentially the whole of his street now knew about his loose stool.

Don’t ruin the fun! After realising one day whilst in the waiting room that our vets also do this, I changed my sisters Jack Russell’s name from Daisy too …. Lord Dewberry woofhound the third.
Sister wasn’t best pleased but would have loved to have seen the others faces when that’s announced! 🤣

Cheapo lightbar guidance systems that won’t work when you need them. Why?
Why is it that they will work some of the time but not all of the time? Then about 20 mins later they will suddenly start working when you’ve nearly finished the job by eye.

Catching a bug cold when I was in hospital last week

but on the up side it’s is still too wet to do anything
But do have to parse the nhs staff on the front line and the doctors even if they changed my diagnosis as I was on way to the theatre (0.3% chance being miss diagnosed as appendicitis)

My oil fired boiler (30 years old) is flaming out now and again. Cleaned the fuel inlet filter, big improvement but still a slight a problem. Next step replace the jet but where I normally buy the jet they say they can only supply to the trade now. Finally found a supplier in Republic of Ireland who would post one out, but makes me think the screws are tightening on older heating appliances probably trying to force us into heat pump crap.
The last certified engineer we had out fitted the wrong nozzle and it melted the splash plate at the back of the boiler. I disputed the nozzle type he’d fitted and he asked me what qualified me to tell him his job. Nothing, I said, the nozzle type required is printed here on the inside of the boiler door and it isn’t the one you fitted. At that he stormed off to his van and was never seen again. That was 10 years ago and I’ve maintained it myself since though I do have experience with gas turbine combustion chambers.

I keep an eye out for used oil boilers on fb marketplace etc. I carry more spares than the local plumbers merchant. ;)
It’s getting to be the only way. I got a pair of replacement igniter leads from a retired heating engineer clearing his bits and bobs on eBay.
Mines an old Danesmoor on borrowed time.

Prof. Charles Godfray on Radio 4 talking about BTb, the culls were working (to a certain extent) and farmers were very upset about losing their herds, but people were getting upset about the culls. It was really down to the politicians to decide what to do....
And they will go where they think they can get the most votes. Apart from Btv and the link to badgers they will not take into account there are too many badgers decimating other wild life species.
