I saw in the Indie article, that Blenky is still bitching and praising RT and the concept of the GFC....

None so blind.... etc etc!
Good for him, does anyone even care what his opinion is?
He’s an office bod on a big estate.

He doesn’t speak for farmers, he speaks for large agribusiness.

If he likes the GFC concept so much, and there’s nothing stopping him doing his own GFC module, on his own, then he can presumably offer his Estate’s self certified GFC accredited produce to his customers and cream in all the cash that they’ll be throwing at him for jumping through the hoops and signing away his green capital up the supply chain.

Cant wait to hear how it goes. Lead by example and all that. 👍

crack on Blenky, let us know how you get on.

He might be a little out of touch with the other 99% of farmers.

Someone said his views on GFC were so way out he wasn't even on this planet.
I lost my Twitter account, perhaps BFU can suggest to him that he just cracks on anyway and does his own self certified GFC audit, on his own and he can report back how much premium he gets from his customers for his estates produce. I’m sure his bosses will be right behind him and he can prove us all wrong. 👌

Thing is, if a individuals or small groups do such things, they have a chance of a marketing edge and price premium.

Red Tractor though, is completely the wrong vehicle to use. It becomes the industry standard, and hence after a year or two it's both mandatory and boggy basic market access with no premium. In fact the whole of the RT scheme is that. We pay to have someone inspect us for things which the competent authorities would do anyway. Only difference with RT is they also compel us to do things like NRoSO and urea policing.

Agreed, however the underlying principle of GFC from the short lived online link to the document was to ultimately hand over green credentials as condition of supply.

RT and the RT superfans insisted that this was not the case, there would be a premium, either funded by govt schemes or by private negotiation or a mix of both…. No sane person would believe that a premium would last (if a premium even materialised in the first place).

So, what better way for an RT super fan such as he to stick one over on the freeloading sceptics than by leading by example. Win win for him surely?

Rule No 65436 of bureaucracy - if your proposals wind some people up too much and threaten to damage your very existence, withdraw them, then reintroduce them in another way under another name when all the brouhaha has died down, and those opposing it have assumed they've won and taken their eye off the ball. Ideally do it in a way that establishes the principle but imposes no costs or requirements on anyone, for now. That can come later. First job is to get the camels nose through the tent flap.

Sorry, but this sh*t isn't going away. A battle has been won, but the (very long) war continues.
@Goweresque So, so wise. It's still foot to the floor to stop a backdoor way to justify their existence.

Attack is the best form of defence.
