Must be quite common in Agriculture I should think but has any one found a way of changing name on V5s without adding a new keeper? Ideally need to keep two vehicles as one and two owners to help with selling on further down the line and would really like the vintage tractors bought new on the farm to stay as one owners aswell. Some googling can’t confirm that a letter with th V5s wont add a new keeper but I could try with one tractor to see what happens!

Where they not registered to the business not the individual? At the end of the day does it really make all that much difference? For preserving maximum value will you be disconnecting the clocks too...

Having dealt with dvla on similar it's easier to change your name by deed poll. ;)
Incidentally we only need to change one initial and the address can stay the same on what’s going to be sold in next few years anyhow!!!
never understood why anyone cares about number of previous keepers? means nothing

personally whenever I see a car we’re interested in I will check previous keepers etc. As an example a three year old car with three keepers would kind of ring alarm bells!!

Was easy to do after Dad died, just checked and they did increase the number of keepers, i’m not worried about that.

Have had more problems with v5 and insurance. NFU had kittens when they discovered my daughter’s car was in her name and i was insuring it. Had to have that changed.

It’s NFU that needs us to sort them! Haven’t finalised Mam’s estate yet and now dealing with Dad’s!!
Don't think the new V5 shows the name and addresses of the previous keepers, just shows the number.
If their going to be sold in the near future, what's wrong with not sending them off to get the name changed, and leaving the v5's as they are ?
No V5s don’t show a name anymore. As above NFU wants us to get them sorted
Dead people cant tax a car, had to sorn dads car while that was sorted

We didn’t tick the DVLA box when doing the tell us once to avoid that!
Just send in the tear off slip with the new owner name ( Same as if you were selling it)
New V5 in a week
Simples !
Looks like we will have to change them all as a new keeper
You can do it online too, just needs the number from the V5.
Yes, I’ll do them all online then at least I can keep existing V5s as a history with the old tractors. Have about 5 different bersions for one!!!
