    Tractor insurance.

Looking to insure a 150hp tractor with a value approx 45k fully comp 95% contracting use, also public liability insurance to be covered for digger work, and all the usual nothing out of the ordinary really. Been quoted £1815 just for the tractor??? Seems wildly over the top? £1200for public...

    Cat th407

Hi mate, We run a 2013 TH407, done around 4K hours... it’s a solid and stable machine, we have a 3.5ton grain bucket on it and it’s a good match, hydraulics are quick, and fairly smooth, visibility isn’t the Best but you get used to it, no one has hit anything with it... we haven’t been...

    Carrier xl disc layout,

Looked at two vaderstad carrier xl with big discs, one with the discs arranged in a “v form” the other in a “x pattern” while the x didn’t crab at deeper depths the finish was somewhat unlevel, where as the V crabbed a little it was a far better finish, this could be slightly fuzzy comparison as...

    Cat Th407 opinions

We run a 2013 TH407, in short, it’s a numb tool, while it’s very stable with a 3.6cube grain bucket son, and 4 bags of seed at full reach filling a drill, it’s awful on the road being very rough with poor boom suspension, and horrendous visibility. Ours has had numerous electrical issues, the...

Alternative to simba 23C disc Harrow for heavy land.

Yes got the tines, I do think a double dd press would be far better than the single dd at the moment. But would really like to up the output and have the width to turn round and do a block of land twice fairly quickly..

Alternative to simba 23C disc Harrow for heavy land.

So, as the title says really, we currently run a set of 5.5m ish.... 23c discs and a single dd ring press for the first pass on heavy land, but were looking for a more of refined tool to the same job, for all its ability to penetrate the ground its finish isn’t very level, it’s also not quickest...

    Vaderstad Rapid discs and coulters

Genuine only!!! Like others have said get it all on a stock order. And the price is nigh on par with the spurious stuff. Running two 6m rapids here I can assure you that genuine metal lasts longer than the other stuff made out of cheese!!!

How is your broadcast wheat looking?

This block of ground was, spun on and harrowed in on the 21st November with a 6m kongskilde triple k, set to work shallow, with the aim to cover as much seed as possible, this particular triple k has a vaderstad type following harrow on the back which really makes a difference in just levelling...

    Horsch terrano mt

We still have one, done a hellish amount of work on varied soil types, I like it, but I still maintain to this day that the top down with a double steel ring Packer is a better tool, leaves a far more level finish.

    Dribble bars..

When I say worn, there showing there age in terms of cracking, odd nozzle snapped off, and the sliders sooo stiff you snap the handle off when altering rates, I guess what I’m looking at is the fact the BFS auto streamers don’t require adjusting for different rates, which is good as we do change...

    Dribble bars..

We have moved to 36m boom width for this year, and we have always used chafer stream bars for all liquid fert applications, but we will need some more to cover the extra 12m of boom, looking at the current stream bars there getting old and worn, and would probably need to change a fair few in...

So what’s everybody’s thoughts on this, looks very good, having driven 6 different crawlers over the year’s and a big fan of tracks, I do like this new offering of four tracks in a smaller frame than a quadtrac etc, yes it’s not articulated but looks to be better offering than the half trac...
