Evening, With various issues on our horizons, soil sustainability, less available chemicals, low organic matters etc etc are some presently pure arable operators thinking of introducing livestock back into there enterprises. There has been some muttering about arable enterprises here in...

What Do Suburban/ Urban members think of Chris Packham?

I think most of us that derive our income from farming think that Chris Packham ,is a thorn in the flesh to British Agirculture due to his idealistic views on how the countryside should be managed. So I would like to know what those of you who live in suburbia/ urban areas think of Chris Packham...

Low input stewardship grassland and rent.

Would anyone pay rent to someone who has grass in stewardship. To me it's one step away from doing fudge all with the ground. Next to no fert, can only weed wipe or spot spray. Cant mow until July. Anyone here prove me wrong?

    T1

    Alresford Agricultural Show

Any TFF'ers going? The forecast is good! Probably the best one day agricultural show in the central south. Plenty of shiny new kit from the dealers and even more vintage machinery. 15 cattle breeds this year. A good show of sheep. Good local food and drink. A refreshing lack of jacuzzi or...

"Improving Our Lot" - Planned Holistic Grazing, for starters..

 Eh up! The idea of starting a thread about Holistic management has been on my mind for ages, if I am honest. Lets start by me putting my cards on the table - I have NO formal training, NO books, and NO interest in starting big wars on which way is best. I do, however, completely and...
