I have a block of land in SB, HSS drilled with the Freeflow straight into overwintered cultivation after it greened up and was sprayed off.
Seed came from very clean block on a separate farm, the aim was a cheap grow.
Where I drilled has historically been bad for wild oats, so I succumbed to the...
I’m very interested in having some gs4 mixes for mid tier scheme. The payment looks very attractive and I like the idea of soil conditioning. At the moment we have 2 year Italian ryegrass leys grazed in winter and till 1sr April then cut 3 times using 86kgs of N per cut. How many acres will I...
I did my crop assessment last week via my phone ,was quite straightforward. I filled in the self assessment form as sprayer is not tested due to Covid 19.They are happy with that but if I dont contact them within a week of lockdown being lifted (no definition of that) I will be suspended bit...
I've sprayed my spring barley with a su (finish SX or answer SX) in the last few days and now i have a rec to spray axial pro for wild oats. I've been told i need to keep the rates up as the su will effect how it works. How long a gap is best for least crop damage, how long before the rate can...
Unusually cold this week. Another frost this morning, so at least 3 this week now.
Have T2 on wheat to do, T1 on SB and some beans to tidy up. All mixes containing a herbicide.
Anybody not applying with such low night temps?
I have a cracking field of ww, (a result in itself) after sunflowers.
It is at the stage of just starting to flower (a worry that we have non stop rain after 2012) and now, the volunteer sunflowers are getting to worrying numbers.
Is there anything that can be applied this late?
I'm going to need to treat my spring barley for wild oats and I was wondering if theres much of a saving by using foxtrot instead of axial.
I've never used foxtrot before is it as safe and kind to the crop as axial?
As above , the idea is that it will crush some clods in bare patches ,thereby creating seed to soil contact? I say that as looks to have been a job to conserve moisture where crops have been planted conventionally.
Anyone else thinking we could do with a nice little soak nothing major? Nothing in the forecast for the next two weeks.
we’re good and f**ked if the drought starts this early.
hoping this might take minds awar from the virus
Is it worth growing, the sense is every man and his dog is putting loads in, but the I read online many have drilled up with WW, driving through Suffolf the other day and there's lots more WW in than around Peterborough so is it worth it?
Is there any seed?
How much is seed???
I have a neighbour, alright but it’s a bit prickly with his wife on account she thinks it’s alright to blatantly cut my hedge whenever she feels like it. They bought a big property up the private lane past our land
He wants to put in a new water pipe and BT cable ducting (I presume...
Spend the last 4 days emptying crap out of one of the lambing sheds, don't know why I save half of it:scratchhead:. Desided to bring 300 home and house um a month early, not due till end of Feb but ground that wet, no where dry to feed and could look better and I don't want them to lose flesh...
