Think this has been covered before ,but I have some land drainage to do and may struggle to get drainage stone on site ,are there any other options for backfill that will last other than stone , not done any test holes yet so unsure but it seems to be deep loamy topsoil over Clay for what I've...
I have been quoted to mole under a small B road and run about 340m of 32mm mdpe through a field.
The cost seems extortionate it has come at over £14k.
Anyone else have any experience with what the costs are for this work or had any quotes for something similar
This is in the Devon area.
I'm looking to canvas suggestions for a cheap gravel cart type set up for putting stone in drainage trenches.
I'm looking to put in some short lengths of drainage pipe by myself to drain some wet holes into the ditches. The lengths of the pipes is unlikely to reach beyond 20m or so, so I'm...
does anyone know if this is allowed in scotland? im 800m from nearest water main for house connection so will need to either mole in a pipe or dig a trench the full way, i see online i could buy a moler for around £350, this could then be used for other jobs around the farm in future
about half the wheat area in here , lost probably 10% , after a general low yield harvest looks like another one on the way , surely there must be some rise in prices to come or are we going to get shafted properly to keep the majority happy ?
We’ve got a field that’s poor drainage wise, worst on the farm by a mile. Had an awful year with it, sopping wet in the spring, barely dried out all "summer". Got naff all spring barley wholecrop off it, made a disgraceful mess in July, miracle we didn’t get machinery stuck. Got it flatlifted...
Been approached by BT etc to install a fibre optic cable across our land to access a remote property as part of their fibre rollout, this property has never had a phone line to it in the past, it's roughly a length of 1000m, but it's through hard stoney ground, already have their agents details...
Hi, I’m after hiring a small trencher in East Yorkshire. All the results online are for the midlands or further south. Anyone know of one to rent in the north?
Thanks
Ed
I was hoping to go to the above sale today but it’s now looking extremely unlikely.
Reason I wanted to go was to see the Marshall trailers, I have the same but on different wheels. I have been told that 560/65r22.5 won’t fit on mine but they are on these trailers of a same age.
It’s short...
As per the title, got some difficult grass land (patchy sward, terrible drainage, dries out over summer) that I'd like to improve.
Trying to avoid tillage and spray...
Can I drill anything in this spring, that will get a root down, build organic matter, and can be grazed by cattle?
TIA
I'm thinking of putting in a 6" twinwall pipe approx 160m in length across a field. Assuming the trench is dug with a 12" excavator bucket.....how much stone would I likely be needing to use please?
Depth clearly makes a big difference - I'd be grateful for advice on this please.
Evening all,
Considering dropping in a water pipe to save on a lot of earaches. Need to take it about 1km. Guessing a trencher is the best option, assume pipe will needed to be sanded in etc.
I can work out the cost of the pipe, fittings and sand but not sure on labour to unravel the thing and...
Hello everybody. I own a stationary Tmr mixer, from Faresin Industries, an Italian company. Its a 18 cubic meters machine with two augers. Few days ago one of the two main gear boxes and also the planetary part broke down. Also its a 10 year old machine and its about time to replace it. I want...
Wales and West Utilities want to replace the gas pipe running under arable land. The redundant line will remain in place.
Offered me an easement payment and a consent payment.
I have appointed an agent (that they are paying for) but does anyone know what price per meter these two payments...
Hi all,
We're looking for some available farms throughout the UK to host some demonstrations for our Soil-Max drainage plough. I'm wondering if anyone would be available to help us host in 2-3 months from now. Below is a video of the last demonstration we held just outside of Duxford.

I have a claas 55 and it is smoking black out of exhaust when working hard have checked common faults such as split pipes and so on. Seems to die under hard load and not quite pull as it should get into gear 9 and it dies with multiple machines
Any ideas of what to check
