surely this commercial operation in Wales cannot be legal on several fronts. Walking pigs along public roads and encouraging them to play in a stream must break a lot of laws

It not being legal didn't stop rather a lot of my pigs ending up on the road last summer when their electric fences weren't earthing properly.
I did explain to them that they were breaking the law as well as annoying me.

You need to apply for a licence from APHA to walk your pig outside your home or premises. You can get an application form from APHA.

With African Swine Fever very present on mainland europe, pig biosecurity is something that must be taken VERY seriously.
Which makes it rather a shame that pig meat still gets imported from affected countries, illegally and legally.

Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a man taking a pig for a walk on a lead in our local town - even stopped for a pint in one of the pubs. Definitely a double take moment.

Ok, any idea of the cost of this? I reckon you could easily treble the mental health provision in the UK and it would still be pretty busy.

From my limited interactions with pigs, moving them anywhere was anything but de-stressing. Lot faster than you think too.
