My ram is running with 30 ewes but the ewes keep splitting up into small groups across 30 acres, so my question is will he still cover all of the groups even tho they all split off over 30 acres as I am worried he wont Due to them being spread out in groups over the land?

If he doesn’t he wants culling.;)

The ewes will seek him out when they are on heat, even if he’s tethered to a post (I believe such a trial was done in NZ). Ewe lambs won’t do so as much, but I still wouldn’t be particularly bothered about ewe lambs at that low a ratio.

A comprehensive trial was done by Jim Lees at Aberystwyth.

We've just tupped 27 with one ram, over 17ac in 5 fields. He's tupped them all first cycle (y)
Quite often I'll find some at one end of the fields and some at the other.
