How much are those cull sows making?
As I posted previously, large southern firm were offering 28 pence per kilo dead weight. So lot of sows will be coming back at between £30 to £35 a piece. From what can see its same for few going live weight in marts. But that will be only a few. How many marts sell pigs? I do not know what the answer is but know where problem come from.

Not much, last times I looked 45 quid was top I think but that is still better than the cost to shoot and haul away and burn isn't it?

I am aware of a local to me sow to end finished unit being decommissioned (800 sow places) started a few months ago and almost complete. The cull sows have made next to nothing.

Darlington sell fat pigs on Thursday. Not many get in though.
