2 rams to 120 ewes is no problem but I would prefer them in more ground so the rams aren’t in top of each other all them time and the ewes gave room to go find the ram better.
It’ll prob be fine though?
Also known as sneaky fu*er syndrome [emoji23]They say 3 is better than 2 - if 2 are fighting the third will be working.
If they can't there's something wrongso ...got 120 ewes on 2 ac fb with 2 ac grass runback....2 'new shiny' rams one beltex one beltex/tex.....can they do the lot?
just harking back to the 40 ewes/ram days i suppose
One if my own Lleyn rams has covered 40 ewes in just over 60 hours, he’s a little tired this afternoon lucky sod!
if a neighbours herdwick/welsh/hebridean/ (insert undesired breed to choice) tup lamb gets in overnight, he'll catch at least 72 of em
if you're envious he probably wouldn't have minded if you'd helped him out
We don’t have many good fields over 4acre... 140 ewes and 4 rams we usually do.good point....hadn't thought of that.......in fact i thought smaller area would help rams
putting a third ram in could make it worse?
