Tanks direct are very good. I bought a large underground tank off them excellent service.
Or sell on again after building control satisfied
Dig a hole, bury a ibc. Get a invoice from tank suppliers for 20k litre tank.
Its a load of bollox. Huge tank of water on standby for steel and concrete shed but it wasnt an issue when building our timber framed house.
I dont know your likely water demand but I would say it would be cheapest to rainwater harvest your 20,000 litres off one of the sheds. I will get Robert to contact you about it, if is of interest,I believe he has priced a tank for you already? They’ve let me away with 20k litres as well, SFS guidance normally states 45k.
They requested hydrant or tank when we built our house but the rules were changed eventually as they realised it was going to be unworkable.... the very nice lady at Scottish water told us to hang on as it would be scrapped. Planning kept requesting hydrants to be fitted in places where local main was only 50mm, hydrant connection is 90mm ?. As it happens I was prepared to fit a hydrant as there’s a 14-16inch main runs past house about 50m away until the less helpful department at Scot water said it was not possible and I would have to connect to a different main 275 metres away on other side of main A9 £££££.
Do you have a silage pit on site? They’ve let me away with 20k litres as well, SFS guidance normally states 45k.

A lot of houses made to have them now rain collecting use for flushing bog garden hose etc etc rightly so imoEvery farm should have a big rainwater tank, useful in the event of a fire and very handy for filling a sprayer.
