Was the plan to cut it again? Or has it grown on so just tidy up?

No we weren't thinking of cutting at all but TBH the grass hasn't stopped growing

Silage must be very expensive and diesel very cheap in Anglesey.

Just tidying up. Would be very much worse left to go to feg over winter as we want fresh young grass in early spring as 1st cut is (weather permitting) on or before 20th April.

Problem with sheep grazing is:

A) the farmers are never very quick at removing them
B) we don't have very good fences (& last time someone nicked the grazers electric fencing)
C) sheep have a habit of removing tetraploid ryegrass so the sward becomes open = weeds/less silage
D) Sheep make horrendous mess around gateways and leave tracks where they walk in file

Not really worth the ££s

Can't believe how dry your ground is. Did you not say that you like sheep in at some point tho?
