The joys the only reason you didnt get burnt to a crisp was the layer of dust sticking to the sweat, 540 in 3/4 of an hour was my record was I glad to see baler running out of string. ,

We had one, I was fortunate to be just that bit too young and dodged the draft.
Other than the inconvenience of having a slave stand in the dust all day to stack the bales, it must have been streets ahead of the alternative of a Perry sledge, and having the soul destroying task of stacking 2500 bales up in 8s at night, after the days baling. A task that I was unfortunately deemed plenty old enough for.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
