There is not much Christian about the C of E.
Local diocese sold the modern rectory they had built in next village for big money, short while later the begging bowls are out for the church roof repairs.
Place can fall down for all I care.

Lots of land is owned by the local diocese rather than the cofe. Lincoln diocese owns 12000ac I believe.
I worked one summer for a chap who had a lot of church land and as such i had the son of the Bishop of Lincoln as a Work colleague. The farmer in question spent a lot of time looking after the local church so whenever Church land came up he was first in the queue. Don't expect the church to look after the poor.
