£80What are folk expecting the price of ewe lambs to be this august - September?
3/4 texel 1/4 mule. Good ones
Might be a few mule breeders not very chuffed at that.........£10 more than what they'd make fat

Going by today’s sale at sedgemore anything decent was £170 plus. Loads of lots in the 190’s
For ewe lambs?? That's above last year's gimmer prices
I'm quite surprised at that, I totally accept what you're saying though. It's a good starting point to work from.
And actually no, for ewe lambs the (average) trade isn't far away from that

Ewe lambs or shearlings ?
Yes, but we aren’t talking about mules… we’re talking texel x. It’s a different marketMight be a few mule breeders not very chuffed at that.........
When I sell any of our ewe lambs at home I take their fat value and add £20. Too cover the extra tag, time sorting etc. Needs too be a nice touch in them. Plus it allows £2/3 worth of negotiation too make the buyer think he’s had the best of the deal…Cheers for the input. I think they need to be £10 over fat price at least and would be happy enough with that. Just wasn’t sure what to expect this year. Seems there are a lot of cattle gone off in last 12 months and are getting replaced by ewes so wondering if it may be more than usual
