the little cordless saw i have is fitted oregon 90 chain
i dont do an awful lot of sawing
but seem to be burning through these at a good rate
my 50cc 10 year old saw is on its second chain
whereas im on my third chain since autumn when i got this saw
i cant source 4.5 mm files which is what is reccomended
so i use 4.0 mm
im told stihl chain would last longer
or does the size mean all brands wont have longevity?

Yeah, the low profile or Picco chains aren't the most robust, just due to their size.

You could try different brands, Oregon do a long life hardened chain but I'm not sure they do it in that size.

Husqvarna make their own chains now.

i have a oregon 91vxl on my small petrol saw
it has extra long cutters
so should last
the 36cc saw is at its limit with it
so theres no way the cordless would drive it
great chain though
nothin wrong with 90 either
except its short life

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
