3 phase electricity installation

When we did ours UKPN put in the lead in and supply fuses (100A). Signed up with eOn for supply so their bloke put in the meter and the isolator.

My electrician then hooked up tails (grey) back to the main board.

Changed supplier to SSE a year later, however the original eOn supplied Elster meter packed it in not long after, so SSE came it swapped it out with one of theirs.

Looks very similar to ours. If u don't mind me asking what happened to your Elster meter? Our first 3phase one had a catastrophic failure.

From memory the display just went blank (or all figures, kind of like the photo strangely), but it refused to cycle so couldn't be read. I suppose I could have just shut up and have got free leccy...yeah right. :D

Of course you would, mine got damaged, (step ladder fell over... oops!) I rang them up and they turned up 6 weeks later, the electric was not paid for between the last reading and the start of the new meter.

Good for you. I don't think I ended up paying either. There was no estimated usage or anything. I suppose if it goes faulty just before your next read is due, you could potentially get up to a quarter (or whatever the last read was) plus the time taken for them to replace it.

The replacement meter from SSE was 'recycled' in as much it didn't have a zero reading when installed. The eOn meter was new/zeroed, but it failed early. I can't recall accidentally dropping anything on it either :D
