4g router web log in interface page refuses to connect on laptop

I feel I should be drooling slightly writing this question so foolish and inadequate to do I feel around internet technology.

I bought a 4g router (it's for outdoor use on the farm). From my laptop I changed the admin password and the network key from the standard admin and 1234567890.

As far as I am aware............ that's all I changed.

When I type in the address of the interface page Chrome tells me "this site can't be reached", and below that I get the address and "refuses to connect"

Cheek of it.

I do have access to the interface page etc on my android phone and the internet is still working fine through the router.

How do I regain control of my wayward and obviously smarter than me router through my laptop on Chrome?

If this is to degenerate into a HAL 2000 / embryonic Skynet situation then, which 12g cartridge would be appropriate for a 4g router to nip it in the bud and save mankind?

As 12g obvs beats 4g.

Something to try, it worked on something for me in the past.

Issues/ suggestions
  • You are not connected to the correct wireless network via the laptop, worth checking
  • Are you able to ping the router via the laptop
  • Can you try using a different browser such as Edge or Firefox
  • Try clearing the browser cache
  • Validate if you are using the same web address as that of the android phone
  • Worth checking the laptop firewall in case access to devices on the local network is blocked
  • replace https:// with http:// and see if it automatically routes to the correct page location
  • If eveything fails, you could reset the router and start again, provided you haven't done much configuration change to it
