Ian Simms is overall vintage champion.
Apparently Geoff Smith was 3rd in the vintage mounted and there were 2 in the classic class, Stuart Burden was 1st, with Ian Wilson 2nd.Well done the winners but are we missing something? Is there a lack of competitors or a lack of interest.
Only 2 in the Vintage mounted and no Classic Class?
Perhaps you could enlighten me David, I was under the impression that the 5 Nations was for World Style conventional and Reversible only and that the 6 Nations was for the Vintage and Classic classes? If it is the case that the vintage and classic are now in the 5 Nations who is eligible to plough at this years 5 Nations that is going to be held the day before the All Wales match in the Vale of Glamorgan? And if this is the case is there a need for the 6 Nations match?Well done the winners but are we missing something? Is there a lack of competitors or a lack of interest.

This five nations was supposed to be held at York but due to world etc it wasn't. So the competitors earned their place the year previous!
They had five weeks notification. I know this because I was the first asked to compete in the vintage mounted. Took me about four days to figure out if I could attend or not so by time I replied would be down to 4 weeks so you can see how the time disappears after two or three people have been asked. I was prepared to go but due to an illness in the family it ruled me out!Any ideas as to why the Scottish vintage/classic/trailing, competitors got 2 weeks notice between being asked if they would like to go, and the date of the actual match????
Surely the scpa got more notification than that??????

I can understand that if I had been going would have needed to move about 200 ton of fert to get tractor an plough out!Fair enough, I know the lack of notice put a lot of people off that I know
Yes 5 weeks notice. Fellow club member of mine who was second in the 5 nations conventional felt it was short enough to organise a overseas tripThey had five weeks notification.
