we replaced our 6930 auto power in the spring with a 6150R autopower.

Very disappointed now the new tractor has done a few hours (about 400)

The new tractor is giving 140/160 hp at pto on dyno test, the 6930 must have been a good one!

Have others been similarly disappointed, and what solution have you found.

There's quite a few threads on here about how they dyno OK, but won't pull in the field, and drink like George Best.

Here's probably the the longest click here

Deere took the tractor back, and a fendt 516 was bought.

The alternative is to get the egr deleted, and remap it to about 190hp.

Won't do the warranty any good, it'll still be thirsty compared to every other brand of engine, but it will be a vast improvement upon the factory spec.

Is it a good idea to chip them with AP transmission ? I know that Quads are bombproof but I dont know how AutoPowrs handles that extra power and torque ?

Remap when out of warranty mine was poor put up with it for a year then derve doc sorted it 63 plate its a pleasure to drive now.was told new ones were better
Derv Doc can get a little carryd away my 6630 standard was 116hp PTO and my dealer told me off the other day with 175hp PTO with massive torque but don't she drive nice tho;). Far to much I know and need's correction promptly but its a beast:)

6150R needs to be 165/185 hp I reckon to be where our 6930 was power wise.
We have a 6930 AQ still on farm that we are happy with. Would be interesting to see where she is at on the dyno.

Well there are sensless drivers in both but as I can understand AP would have a lot more problems to handle that than PowrQuad. Or maybe not ?

The engines predominantly need major surgery before the AP gearboxes.

Deutz use basically the same ZF sourced vario box as Deere, and stuff over 200 HP up it's front end straight out the factory. These tractors don't suffer the gearbox failures that plague Deeres.

Deutz fit better filtration, separate hydraulic and gearbox oil, and brakes and bearings that don't disintegrate with the frequency that the Deere ones do.

Provided you're scrupulous with the cleanliness of the hydraulic oil connections, and the tractor isn't used extensively for high speed haulage, the AP (ivt) gearbox will cope with an engine remap.

We have a 6150r autoquad and to be fair pulls like a train. 6 furrow kv on 16" furrows and a 4mtr vaddy rapid drill on some strong land. Only time it seems bit gutless is pulling out of a junction with a loaded 14 ton grain trailer. Quite happily drills at 8.5kmh @1750 rpm. All standard spec no fiddling, just coming up to 900 hrs nows, maybe we just have a good one.

On that note, getting some sludge injected, one tractor broke down on way here, second next morning, both going into dealers for surgery, spoke to fitter and drivers, asked if it was the Massey or John Deere end,was the later, both 64reg classes

If it strong land it won't pull 6 furrows and it must have a good weight on front, one I had would go in a straight line turning with five,6630 manages a 3mtr dc3 with seed and fert at 11k so dosnt sound to pull that well

The man asked about the auto power gearbox. You're correct that there are only two makes of tractor that use that gearbox, it's just that one of them is properly designed, and engineered, and the other one is a Deere
