Looking for some advice on buying one for preparing Maize ground for AD plant. Currently using a 4m and a 3.5m one to prepare 650 acres for contractor to come in and drill.
Have just bought our own Tempo drill and wanted to replace cultivations with one machine. Have a JD 6210R with most of the ground being "Boys ground" which will already have been pressed. Enough HP?? Any ideas on makes? Cheap lesser known brands or Kuhn,Amazone!! Any ideas welcome.

I find that my Kuhn takes more driving than the amazone with same width and number of rotors. Am led to believe more rotors such as lemken or alpego take even less driving and make a nicer job.
Use 4m with 150hp if it helps.

What sort of acreage are you doing a year with it?
Have you got the quick fit tines on it. I'm waiting for a price on the Kuhn 6m but the weaving price certainly looks very attractive!!

If it's easy working ground You only need a good operator and this. ,,, sub soiled first if needed and drill straight into it

I thought I was on boys Ground!!
We've got some land like that but most of our fields aren't that even. We seem to have patches in most fields that need working.

No quick fit tines on ours - when folded its not a bad job with the airgun - probably does about 6-700 acres / year - plenty of adjustment on the packers - would defo buy another.
