Would a John Deere 6930 comfortably pull this drill, heavy land, gentle undulation rather than hills. I can put a 7530 on it but has no isobus or greenstar, (8360RT available but bit of overkill)?

Had a mf 7618 on ours at times which is about the same as a 6930. Forward speed will be limited but you might be fine on most of it. Usually have 240+hp on the front and that is more than enough. Would have thought a 7530 would be a perfect match for it.

It will pull it most of the time easily, drilling beans up steep banks would test it's traction as well as power. Pulled my 4m one with my JD 6400 at 15k in a 10 acre square field that is 10m higher at one end than the other ( ie drilling up and down the bank ) but only seeding a couple of inches deep. If you looked in the 30 series brochure one of the pics is a 6930 on a 6m 750. Could you not get a loom for the 7530 as a back up?

I pulled my 6m with our 6930 for three years the only time I had any problems with a lack of power was drilling spring beans deep on heavy land . I had the tractor remapped then couldn't grip so added dual wheels all round then tractor got hot . Sold the 6930 and now have a 6210r

I think it might be on the limit TBH - 4m was a nice fit on a 6930, ott on the flat but just right for hills with a hopper full

I will have 724 on our 6m, I would say that or a 6210r would be the ideal on a 6m if you have anything other than dead flat land

just to add we are dragging a 1500L fert tank about as well I guess that adds a bit to HP requirement

you can run the drill without isobus BTW - there is a basic accord control box you can opt for - saves about 4k as well which would pay for retrofit RDS etc if you wanted to do VRA etc

Some excellent deals from JD at the moment on the ATU RTK systems. We used a 6m 750a over a couple of years about 15 years ago. Driling beans into cultivated soils at 4 inches deep it needed every bit of the 260hp that was on the front of it at the time. Had it gone direct into stubble then it would of flown along.
