6R 185 engine boost

Hi I’ve ordered a 6R185 for next spring, the tractor will be mainly pulling a 4M Trailed drill just wondering will the hydraulic fan on the drill be enough to activate the boost. The book says it’s available for hydraulic applications. Salesman didn’t really give a clear yes or no. Any current users know if this is the case?

On 2016 6155r with trailed sprinter drill and hydraulic fan, the boost progressively comes into play once 13kmh or over I believe. Newer may well be different criteria. If you apply more pressure to the salesman he should be able to find the correct answer for you from the JD tractor sales area manager.

Too late if he's already placed the order

Salesman couldn't care less about after sales support(!)

You can spec hydraulic ipm. So yes but spec it. Was about £400 on my 6r150

On the older generation of tractors it was just a boost on pto and on the road but on the new one have hydraulic IPM which is supposed to give give it when hydraulics are under load. But I’m not sure a drill fan is enough of a load
