Often hear remarks that souped up 6290 runs hot. Plenty of 8220 doing 180hp on shaft. Do they run cooler?

Poss bigger Radiator in them? is it still a perkins or SISU motor in the 8220 ? without looking in my brochure i cant remember.Often hear remarks that souped up 6290 runs hot. Plenty of 8220 doing 180hp on shaft. Do they run cooler?
i wouldnt try to push a 6290 to that kind of power it wont end well at some point. 150 odd horses is fine tho.Yes same motor. Did work a 8220 on single pass was 183 on Shaft rose bit over half way on Guage but never concerned. Just wondered if others had worse bother.
Would your 6270 be much ahead of your 4 cyl.? The 6265 supposed to be capableOur 6270 hasn’t been tweaked but has always ran fairly hot compared to the 6265 4 cylinder, 6270 pulls like a train. I’d of thought a tweaked one would struggle to keep cool as the standard setup is plenty hot enough?
The 6270 runs rings around the 65. Way more power and torque and sounds better too. Dad has always wished they bought another 70 or a 90 instead of the 65 but grandad wouldn’t let him. To be fair to the 6265 it’s had a hard life, it went straight on a 3m combi drill and was always on its knees. 6000 hours, 3 turbos and an engine rebuild later it’s on light duties. It was probably much better when it was new but I was too young to rememberWould your 6270 be much ahead of your 4 cyl.? The 6265 supposed to be capable
That's interesting. You should Dyno your 6270. Sounds lot more than 10hp difference in 2 tractorsThe 6270 runs rings around the 65. Way more power and torque and sounds better too. That’s a good idea, it would be interesting to find out. I suspect you’re right, either the 6270 is over performing or the 6265 is under. Normally the 6270 is on the plough but went on the drill when the 65 broke down and marched along no problem at all. That's interesting. You should Dyno your 6270. What power on your 6270 now?My 6270 has been tweaked up and no problems with overheating, where they run on the gauge is down to the thermostat, we changed the thermostat and it runs a bit hotter than it did but still fine,
the pumps are easy to fiddle
What combi have you got and how much weight upfront. I'm going to have to follow the ploughThat’s a good idea, it would be interesting to find out.
