Hello I have actually bought so far two different hydraulic oil caps for the back of our 8340! and couldn’t work out why neither fitted when both saying was for.

Turns out on losing the oil cap, the screw in bit of it is also missing!
It was stolen when it was parked up so God knows how they got this bit off, just wondering if anyone would know what on earth it would be called and also where best to get one I’m based in Dorset.

pics from other 83 we have showing screw in bit and threads, other just showing bare tube

thank you

Are you sure it did have the threaded coller or was it a cap like 100 and some ten series which expands the rubber seal as you tighten it?
The picture of cap that I think you shared above is last one I’ve just got in post, it won’t screw out/expand and stay in, seems loose in their.
Was only as other 83 we have had this I just gathered was meant to be on it. Would explain confusion in how they removed that too if not meant to have. 🤔

maybe the cap like said, is faulty thou? I’ve not returned it yet. So will look again maybe. or bodge it with zippy ties..the new age or posh age bailer twine 😄
Thanks

I thought the screw in caps only appeared on the TS, all 40s I've driven had the expanding bung like this
They'll be available from other aftermarket suppliers and I'd expect any New Holland dealer to have one on the shelf.
That’s the last one I bought and won’t stay in or expand when screwed in.. maybe faulty 🤔

Sometimes you have to hold the external collar with one hand while you tighten the black plastic nut with the other.
Innuendo not intended.
Lol 😂 non taken..
I’ve tightened it pretty tightly it’s staying in but you could pull it out if wanted. Going to attach a zippy tie incase it does. But thank you

that fits in the hole in the 4th pic
Oh I see now what your meaning.. the cap I’m showing in pic is on other 8340 we have.. it’s a different one that’s missing the cap, and also thread bit it screws into.. was showing what one had. And other didn’t.. sorry for confusion
