Is anybody cross Abermax ×mule
@RockyKildare how quickly was the Abermax ramMy dad put an abertex across our mules for the first time this year. Been really really impressed with the lambs we've had. Noticeably better conformation and size than the texel lambs we usually get. We only went for a highlander tup at the aber sales last year for my side of the flock, but my old man really liked the look of an abertex and the Abermax, so ended up coming home with tex as well as a highlander. Got outbid on the abermax unfortunatly, all went for a lot of money!!!!! If anything like the results we've had from both tups this year though might well be worth the extra money.

@MJT now that's a good sheep. What would the lambs be like to the mule ewePleased with ours, kicks out good thick lambs, with a lot of get up and go. And lives on fresh air. View attachment 306296View attachment 306298

An AberTex is just a Texel, just recorded on an in-house system at Innovis so that you can't compare performance with any others.
@gatepost might something about them.
I wouldn't know were to start, sand and Arabs comes to mind. But very valid point made @neilo within flock recording, you buy the best out of that flock, always ask how many rear groups declared where management and or farm may be different. But if the sheep are good and do the job for you all well and good, figs in some smallish cohorts regardless of breed are virtually worthless.An AberTex is just a Texel, just recorded on an in-house system at Innovis so that you can't compare performance with any others.

Correct me if l'm wrong but isn't the abertex just a non inverdale carrying texel, a very clever way to market a by product.I wouldn't know were to start, sand and Arabs comes to mind.
