Above ground slurry store

Just done one here 550000 Gal for around £75k, just joined into our existing system though so we didn't build any new reception pits, an i did the ground works myself. Its also roof ready, in England you can get a grant on the roof but not if its part of a new store, you have to build the store first then apply, not sure what the deal is in wales.

That's for 140 500-550kg cows, you need to remember to calculate 6 months rainfall for your area on any dirty concrete and the store itself i suppose. Mine is absolutely bigger than it needs to be but i figured that was a good thing, wont be a problem when numbers inevitably push on over time

Depends on your soil type but you could dig a lagoon for much less than that. We have a 1 million gallon lagoon for 200 holstein and it cost about 12k to dig and if we would've needed to line it the price would be about 30k total. However you have to make these bigger than above ground circular stores as they catch alot more water

Can you practically cover it? Roof or floating cover?
