I wonder if the same thing applies to DPFs. I know some manufacturers fit the DPF as a cartridge that you remove at the designated time (x hours of use) and then have it cleaned and replaced with a service exchange unit. What is to stop someone taking their cartridge to pieces, drilling large holes in it and putting it back in?

I suspect by the very nature of the driver, the term " properly refined remap", is somewhat alien!!A properly refined remap should not produce any visable smoke.
