Ok thanks will put it machinery

But I haven't had a message

you should have had a message telling you why it was deleted, sorry if that hasn't got through somehow should have read -

Hi,  I have deleted your listing from the general for sale section as I feel it is more appropriately positioned under the machinery for sale section of the forum which can be found here http://thefarmingforum.co.uk/index.php?forums/machinery-for-sale/ .  Ads posted in that section are more visible to google etc and the search function will mean your ad can still be found rather than just slip down the page quickly as a regular thread can do given the volume of traffic TFF now attracts.

Keeping things in the right place helps keep the website more logical and organised which is important as it grows and gives members the options they want re filtering what ads they do or don't see

If you need any help with re listing your item please don't hesitate to get in touch and I will do my best to help you where possible

Thanks for your understanding and I hope TFF helps you achieve a fast sale

They should still be in classified section.
Dealer listings no longer appear in the 'machinery for sale' sub folder in the main forum though. (y)

^this, feedback was that members didn't want dealer ads on the forum so now only private ads are on the forum but dealer and private are on the classifieds section with the user option of seeing all, private only or dealer only

Not against dealer ads but they soon filled up the page and someones ad hardly gets seen .

this is why we need the new classifieds system so you can opt to not see dealer ads if that is your preference

dealers were increasingly placing ads on TFF because they were seeing that stuff sells here, the threads were growing fast meaning that items slipped down the page fast, there was nothing stopping a dealer coming onto the forum and listing hundreds of machines all of which would displace the private ads that would be lost several page back and you as members would have no mechanism to ignore the dealer ads.

The new system solves this by giving you the option of what ads you see

lots of improvements coming over the next couple of weeks one of which is to make the system remember your preferences so you will only have to make that choice / selection once
