Looking to fit a new kitchen, have so far been to see the usual, wren, wickes etc. feel like I’m buying a used car and all the salesmen are all just chasing commission. ( and they are all men)!

I am happy to design my own if I can order cabinets from a basic range. I’ll keep it simple and fit everything into units of 300/600 m width.

Where is the best place to just buy kitchen cabinets, worktop etc? In a buying group so can purchase from most “trade only” suppliers.

would prefer pre assembled to save the hassle of putting together. Looking for quality and hard wearing over flashy design.

Also if anyone knows of anywhere currently very competitive please let me know?

Have my own carpenter who can fit so just buying the kitchen itself.

An account at both Magnet and Howdens is very helpful. Howdens have a price match promise and top quality carcasses. Screw Magnet as tight as possible then just show Their quote to Howdens. Jobs a goodun 👍🏻

If you have a decent carpenter/fitter to put it in, have you considered secondhand? Amazing what wealthy folk take out when the mood takes them, often a LOT better quality than you'll get from Howdens, Wren, etc. There's a company called Rehome that brokers sales of 'pre-owned' kitchens, and who will arrange delivery (or collect yourself if you like).

We were tempted by one that had been fitted new, costing about £75k, which was being removed after 6 months as the owners had decided to 'remodel' the house. It was available at £10k, removed and including (seriously top end) appliances. Basically a new kitchen.

In the end, we went for one a bit older, costing around £90k new and paid £6,500 delivered. Ready to fit in the new place when there's a roof and walls again.
The downside is that the built in coffee machine will cost about £1800 to replace when it goes wrong, and the built-in wine fridge about £2500. We might end up with some fancy looking extra cupboards when that happens. :ROFLMAO:

We have just fitted a Howdens kitchen - seems pretty good, price was ok.
An advantage is that they seem to have everything available either in stock or next day - if you need to change something or need a piece of trim while your fitter is on site, it can be sorted quickly.

You can design your own on the planner on DIYkitchens.com and then they’ll send it out for you to fit.

DIY kitchens. Strongest carcasses, and delivered assembled, importantly, by their own transport. Not as cheap as they used to be.
Better quality than Howden.
They have a showroom big as a grain store at Pontefract, where you can go and see the different styles in situ.
I've fitted two.
Wickes showroom range is good, but very hard work to cut through the car salesman like purchasing procedure.

Another vote for Howdens, I’ve had about 8 fitted in various properties over the last 20 years, and they seem to be hardy enough to survive tenants.
They’re reasonably stylish (not that any man would notice) and they’re very competitive on price.
