Agco c3000 guidance

Does anyone in here know much about the agco c3000 GPS system and screen similar to topcon x30? Since several months ago I understand that most systems have needed an update to do with satellites changing? Ours has supposedly been updated yet the date is still wrong and the time, and it appears to be on a version from Oct 2017. Shame it isn't proper topcon like we have in our sprayer as the guys at LH Agro are extremely helpful.

It is not about "satellites changing" but the GPS week number rollover issue:

Most receivers do not need any update, Topcon and AGCO 3000 do (odd that the AGI4 Fendt variant seems to be fine). A shame that they did not fix their SW by October 2017 for an event happening this spring. After all the issue was known years (decades) before the Topcon receiver SW bug was implemented.

If they have updated the screen and the receiver the software in the receiver should be: agi4_4.1K12p20 and if you look at the AG3000 software in the screen on the main screen press the top left icon with the (i) icon it should be on Software V3.17.707. If not I don’t think this has been updated with the latest GPS rollover software.

Thanks, I will have a look in the morning to see what software version it is on. Surely if they had put the latest rollover software on then the date should be reading correctly? We are currently on egnos signal at the moment as our Omnistar hp expired a few months ago, due to be renewed in the next few days. Egnos signal seems terrible, constantly changing anywhere between 30 to 50cm accuracy.

Yeh that’s the older software. I did one this afternoon and the date shows the date the firmware was wrote which was March 2019 p20. And should be 17.707.

Thank you very much for your advice on this. Finally got the dealers to get us on the latest software version. Took a while but got there in the end. Omnistar subscription had now come through successfully with the update.

Coming back to this old thread. I tried to have our C3000 screen and the AG3000 receiver updated since the GPS week rollover (spring time). The tractor visited the workshop twice but the best I was able to get was the same release as farmer steve showed on the first message of this thread.

The tractor is under warranty but our workshop manager says they do not not handle repair under warranty except during normal periodic service. Had the tractor serviced (even if hours did not ask for it yet). Eventually the workshop was not doing it alone but had an expert from their support organization helping them. I gave them the very detailed "instructions" that I got from a member here (don't want to name anyone but should be obvious after reading this thread). Everyone understood that the update should come elsewhere, the one available from their diagnostics tools would not be acceptable but that was the best I could get.

So my SW was initially even older than that farmer steve had. All the task documents were printed with a random date, making them more or less useless for reporting. Now after the update to p17 SW, the screen date is still wrong when first started but when I start the receiver, the date appears to be correct. Seems p17 did fix one issue although not perfectly.

I had an experienced guy at the factory who would surely helped me with the p20 SW but he has left the company and I'm not sure how I should proceed. I'm not happy at the outcome and I don't think this level of support is good for the AGCO brand image either. I thought I'd ask Fuse experts but from their website it looks like they do not help customers directly, even taking a note of the complaint and delivering it internally at their organization would be enough. By the next GPS week number rollover they would have a solution, probably new bugs too.

Usually my local AGCO dealer is very good, but my experience this year with a Fendt VarioGuide upgrade/swap from Topcon to Trimble receiver - which has taken 6 months to execute - has been far from stellar support. Pardon the obvious JD pun!

Aided, abetted and compounded by the fact that the gear was literally months out of stock then swiftly followed by a raft of “Tech Sales Support” staff changes, as the main tech sales/support guy left the dealership, have left me dangling somewhat.

I have got a freebie 12-month RTX Centerpoint sub as an “apology” of sorts but I’m still not completely sorted. Someone please return my calls/texts/emails, smoke signals and carrier pigeons (ok I made the last two up, I really hate pigeons) from TNS please....

I resorted to sourcing and installing my own Satel external radio in the setup. Programmed it all and bolted it into the topdoc plate. Amazingly it all worked first go.

Why is it all made so very hard?!
