We run Landmark Key accounts, Gatekeeper and Cattle Data. All run in one computer at the moment. The office is getting busier and we need to be able to run them on 2 computers so that more than one person can operate in the office at any one time. Each software provider seems to want an exorbitant amount to enable us to do this. How have others dealt with this problem?

I only use FarmWizard herd management software and it is Cloud based and works through the Chrome browser on all devices that are logged into its account, anywhere there is wi-fi. On mobile devices there is an app that synchronises when wifi or a signal is available and which allows off-line and remote data entering and viewing of reports and data. This is all for one subscription annually.

I've no idea whether they have a more diverse suite of apps. If they don't, surely there are some alternatives in the marketplace that do?

FarmWizard herd management
Cattle Data.

If you like Cattle Manager and Farm Wizard you'll really like Breedr which runs on your mobile and has a website login rather than software you download. Has unlimited users so if you have a large team they can all access it. Works with and without phone signal and all sync's to the cloud, got lots of data and reporting tools. The app is free and you can list animals for sale which they take a commission on if you sell through them. www.breedr.co

Farmwizard has no downloadable software apart from the app for your phone/tablet if you wish to use it in the field. Sounds very similar. It is the way to go I reckon. The ultimate versatility of use.
Obviously, being browser based, the login details are remembered by the device, so access is instant. It is also easy to back up locally by downloading either as a .csv or .pdf files just in case. I've never had any issue that the excellent support team can't sort very quickly, which is a rare event anyway.

Should mention that if working away from home on a ship's computer, for instance, you can log in and do everything very easily as long as you remember the login details. User name and password.

I'm still wary of companies offering this kind of cloud-based service...
So am I to an extent, which is why, just like all digital files, I don't just rely on their backups or business security, but also take the occasional data dump onto my own machine as I described in the above post. Just in case.
Then there's the data sync'd to the mobile's app, of course, which is in effect a another locally held data dump/store.
