We have got an agridata program for our cattle. The company is know finished so no backup. However due to being sick of BT, we are wanting to change phone suppliers but our email is a BT one. So we want to change our email address but this old program uses the BT email address to email BCMS with all our movements/ deaths etc.
Does anyone know how to change this in Agridata to the new address or do we just abandon the email function of this program and use CTS online?

We havn`t a BT account for 2 years now but the old bt email address still works though I have almost everyone weaned off it now
Best long term solution is to get a web domain... myfarm.co.uk
You don`t need to have a web site.if you don`t want one
but it will let you have ( think it`s about 10 or 12 email addresses for no extra charge )
So Joe'@myfarm.co.uk
Office'@myfarm.co.uk
etc
Then it doesn`t matter who your broadband supplier is
Have a chat with BCMS about this. I think they would need to have a new email address registered at their end. Havn`t any experience of agridata, Is there not a section where your details are entered that includes the email address

So they finally shuffled of this mortal coil..! Not really surprised TBH.

Been many a long year since I used Agridata, but I can remember changing email address details once, but as time moved on (change of ownership?) they got very pernickity at keeping everything locked down..

I refused to pay the inflated fee, but managed to keep the system going with no Updates until I dropped out of cattle in 2009/10. I thought I had worked around their blocks by using a really installation programme, but as soon as I tried updating from a CD, it crashed and threw me out :)

Look at Breedr, it is a very competitive but not as comprehensive as some.... ;)

From the old FAQ page

Do I need email addresse(s) to use the BCMS Web Services?

The answer to this is No. To send passports applications and movements to the BCMS or receive data from the BCMS using the BCMS Web Services all you need is access to the Internet (dial up or broadband).

I get the following error when using the BCMS Web Servies. CTWS800 - Invalid request; authentication failure. What does it mean?

If you receive a CTWS800 - Invalid request; authentication failure when using the BCMS Web Services it means the User Id and or Password entered into Agridata doesn't match what the BCMS have recorded. Make sure you have entered the correct User Id and Password in the Company Setup screen, on the 'CTS Web Users' page. Remember the password is case sensitive, so if the letters in the password are capital they must be entered in capitals.

We're agridata customers who've just realised - via this thread- why they're not responding to questions.

the missus has looked at Breedr, and didn't initially like the feel of it.

Any others?

Haven’t done for years, we found out that our shearwell sheep program also does cattle at no extra cost so just a matter of transferring the data over some day.

I didn't like Breedr, as it was not what I wanted and was pitched at a different user.

I also tried a couple of others, and then signed up for Farm Matters. Hell of a lot of extras that are all included and the support is quick I have found. Pricing is acceptable for our few cattle and sheep.

I specifically wanted the NVZ add-on which took a while to fathom out, but then produces lots of nice paperwork to keep Inspectors happy....

Thanks both.
Reluctance to giving shearwell more of my money is now a semi-religious matter, when they're queued up to make us spend ever more.
I'll pass on the other to her ladyship.

I'm astonished there isn't a knockoff about, at pennies.
It must be very old hat stuff - the level we're wanting.

You'd a thought agridata would've sold out to someone who'd shake out the bugs.
(it's ample for us until it goes pop)

Farming must be a poor market ...look how grassroots has managed to maintain position!

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.

This webinar will be...
