I see John Deere have just withdrawn from Agritechnica 2021, the rules I have heard from other exhibitors sound very strict. It certainly won't be the same show this year, which is a shame as its such a good social event.

As we were discussing when i tagged this in the lamma thread yesterday I think it will be the end for 2021 Agritechnica, i think the other major players will pull out as they will put their money elshwere rather than take the risk and then loose at the last second as you say Rob

I've booked hotel rooms but on a free cancellation basis upto a week before the event.
It would be a shame if it was cancelled but if its not safe or practical what is the point of risking lives.
It's just something that I look forward to every 2 years but it would be my 7th visit to the show.

Will be pulled in 2 weeks.

Apparently there are a lot of people on high paid jobs clinging on. Delaying its cancellation.
thought as much. there not in a good way financially but i think that's common knowledge.
Shame as its by some distance the best all round Ag show i really like seeing year on year.
and not too far away neither.

I’ve paid my membership ( and Mrs ) for the last two years with nothing to show for it . I’m aware it’s more than than the show, but I pay my membership for the Highland Show .
Frustrating you should get something back, these are times none has seen in our generation & obviously not insured for neither id presume
what do they do ?????

I’d bet they’d just say it’s for the Scottish agriculture society and the highland show is just part of it .
Im sort of happy enough carrying on with my subscriptions if it means the show can carry on .

John Deere announced Months ago they would not attend any shows untill the end of Oct 21 so no surprise ref the above, i suspect they will do a blanket extension untill at least spring 2022 for all shows.

Cereals 21 will only go ahead with very limited numbers at best ( in the 100s per day ) and they will prob want to ensure a clear C-19 test or proof of vaccination before they let you in so that will rule out most people who would normally attend.

My Neighbour said much the same a while back regarding last years & he has been a lifetime member since 1976 & it was cheap then compared to what it was for his son a few years ago
when i think they got him one for his 21st & it was quite eye watering amount.

10000 is the number I’ve heard for cereals. Given the size of show ground that should work. No indoor spaces. I don’t think numbers have been a lot higher in previous years over the two days. So I wouldn’t call it “limited” really. If they change that to 4000 then it will be different.
