not my problem

equally if you screw up nature / climate / planet we will ALL when starve / cook or drown !
When I'm parked in traffic on the M25 which I do most weeks watching a plane a min fly over my head to land at Heathrow, my little bit of land back in Wales feels very close to nature
If your that determined to feed the bids why don't yiu scoop 10 ton if dry grain out of your bins and spread it on your stubbles now with your land drive , it would cost the public an awful lot less I'm sure even if they paid you market price for it , And the starlings would love you for ever , but don't stand under their fly past 🤣

It does make you wonder.
Fresh and dry out the bin instead of mouldy damp seed still in ear or been on the ground for a couple of months.
Anyway it’s what they want so it’s what they’ll get and nobody listens to reservations up front. They only learn by experience.

Just wondering if @agricontract is hoping to do this with his new to him 36m air spreader, spread AHL2 in standing crop or has it got to be drilled?
Broadcasting is perfectly ok to establish.

Oly said in his video yesterday he's going to use it to broadcast bird plot seed into standing crops before harvest.

As with anytime of establishment rain afterwards is key, being on the North West coast that's something @agricontract is more guaranteed than most.

Have you been inspected
was this a rotational block or planted first year in October then kept on same land for 5 years

there is no way that the aims will be met in the first year with an October planting
the Pictures to prove it works will so very little in December

Over the years yes a few inspections. Last one was HLS in around 2018 iirc.

I actually feel quite enthusiastic about it. Hopefully it will be acceptable for me to apply in July and start my SFI year in August. That way I can sensibly plan autumn drilling and land use yet still have the crop of bird seed “established” within 12 months of agreement start date.
I would love to find some of your older posts saying you would never touch SFI with a bargepole!

The whole point is that it's cheaper from the pet shop.

Out of interest, how much per kilo for sunflowers?
It's cheaper if I sold you feed barley to sow , but the end of my business when they found out
Be interested what the rpa think when they see an invoice for feed Sunflowers 🌻
If someone wants some I look into the price but off the cuff £3.20 kg
I'm sure it may well be cheaper I'm a pet shop
Like I said they can buy uncertified seed of a farmer and bag it without any official tickets that all cost money

And TBH none of this SFI stuff rests easy with me at all because of:
A) it’s immoral to be wasting land when others go hungry
B) I don’t like micro management by an incompetent State who pander to those with no idea.
But I can’t fight the tide and while I’m busy trying to make the most of my wife’s limited life expectancy then SFI will do as a stop gap.
